Duomo

Dedicated to the Assumption, the cathedral was completed by Robert of Anjou (1313). Its current appearance is the result of several interventions, the first after the 1456 earthquake and the last in the 19th century, which gave the facade its neo-Gothic forms. The original portals date from 1407. Inside, you can find: the Basilica of Santa Restituta and the Baptistery of San Giovanni in Fonte (4th century); the Minutolo Chapel (second half of the 13th century); the Crypt with the relics of Saint Januarius, created after 1497; and the Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro (1608-1637).
