Italia e UNESCO organizzano la seconda edizione della Conferenza di Napoli sul Patrimonio culturale nel XXI secolo.

The second edition of the Naples Conference on Cultural Heritage in the 21st Century will take place from June 4 to 6. This event, of great significance within the UNESCO framework, is strongly supported by Italy to further explore the issues and build on the achievements made in implementing the principles of the “Spirit of Naples” policy document, which was unanimously adopted by the participants of the first edition in 2023. Italy continues to promote a holistic, human-centered approach in this field, ensuring that the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage serve as a vehicle for sustainable social and economic development.

Building on the results of the first edition, the conference will therefore explore concrete actions for enhanced protection of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, examining points of convergence and evaluating increased synergies between the two relevant UNESCO Conventions. Furthermore, the event will serve as an exceptional platform to provide timely contributions to the upcoming World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development – MONDIACULT 2025. With this second edition, thanks to Italy’s initiative, the Naples Conference establishes itself as a regular platform for reflection on these issues within the UNESCO framework, with the ambition of becoming a key reference point in the debate on the two most prominent expressions of World Heritage for years to come.
