A masterpiece of early 17th-century Neapolitan Baroque, it was designed by Pietro Bernini and Michelangelo Naccherino for the Royal Palace and transferred to the seafront in 1906. The structure consists of three round arches decorated with polychrome marbles and reliefs. The central arch houses a basin with a river deity and two sea monsters. The lateral archways feature caryatid statues holding shells. The top is enriched by the insignia of the viceroy and the city of Naples.
