The building, originally dedicated to Saint Christopher, was granted at the end of the 16th century to the Hospitaller Fathers and the parish of Saint Thomas at Capuana. It was later called San Loren- zello, but when the small church of Sant’Andrea, founded in the 9th century by Bishop Attanasio, was demolished for the construction of the Treasury of San Gennaro, the confraternity moved to this church, which has been dedicated to the apostle ever since. This church was home to the con- gregation of the coachmen. The facade dates from the late 19th century.
