The Chapel of the Congregation of the Saviour—also known as the Cappuccio—dates back to the Middle Ages but was remodeled in the 18th century. The majolica floor, dating from 1735, was made by the Massa brothers’ workshop, also responsible for the cloister of Santa Chiara. The poly- chrome marble decorations and altar date back to 1766. The Edicola della Pietrasanta, to the right of the piperno portal, is topped by a plaque commemorating the reconstruction of the Santa Maria Maggiore’s dome.
