The church, dating back to the 15th century, was restored in 1519 by Giovanni Donadio, known as Il Mormanno, as noted in the inscription at the entrance. It was designated for its own chapel. It is known by the name alle Paparelle due to its association with the Paparo family who lived in the same street. The facade, made of piperno with Corinthian pilasters and a smooth pediment, features a door flanked by two apsidal niches. The simple interior once housed an image of the Virgin with a Moorish face and a 16th-century statue of St. John the Baptist, both of which are now lost.
